Commercial Description:
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate. This is the best way to describe Monkey Face Porter. It is a medium bodied porter with significant chocolate malt characteristics. But don’t let the dark color scare you. This beer finishes extremely dry with a hint of the Willamette hops used to create this perfectly balanced porter. Monkey Face Porter is perfect after a long day at the mountain or on the river!

Draft at the Brewpub: Poured a dark brown with a smaller beige head. Light lacing. Nose is heavy on the roasted malt with medium chocolate tones. The taste is consistent to the aroma with the addition of coffee/mocha notes and a bittersweetness. Decent porter.

Pours dark brown with minimal tan head Nose is coffee and burnt brown toast. Some roasty malts and caramel in the flavour but a little acidic. Finishes dry and forgettable.

Tap at Cascade Lakes Lodge pours out black topped with a tan head. A nice light roast on this one. Nothing to great

Poured very dark, almost black with a nice tan head and good lacing. Big nose of roasted malts and chocolate. Mouthfeel creamy and flavors strong in coffee and chocolate. Dry finish with a hint of hop bitterness. Nice porter.

On Tap at Cascade Lakes Lodge Clear very dark brown with a nice tan head with very smooth creamy lacing due to the nitro. Lots of dark roasted malt aromas and a rather acidic/metalic flavor and an almost rusty aftertaste. A rather thin feel made this a bit of a dissapointment.

Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
Nice, but kinda average and thin brew.

Bottle... Poured a deep, opaque black with amber highlights at the bottom of the glass, really thin, light brown head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is roasted nut, and malt with a hint of cocoa. Flavor is leafy, chocolate malt, and a dry hop ending with a slight coffee aftertaste. Creating a nice complex character and very satisfying.

More coffee than chocolate on the nose, dark dark brown. Chocolate malt predominately, great flavor where other porters stray.
