Commercial Description:
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate. This is the best way to describe Monkey Face Porter. It is a medium bodied porter with significant chocolate malt characteristics. But don’t let the dark color scare you. This beer finishes extremely dry with a hint of the Willamette hops used to create this perfectly balanced porter. Monkey Face Porter is perfect after a long day at the mountain or on the river!

Pours an ominous black with a tan head. The aroma was sweet, with a generous hops tones and a roasted smokiness as a subtle background. The flavor was full and smokey. A little too thin feel for a porter. Not bad.

Bottle. Poured black with tan head. Faint malt and chocolate aroma. Medium to thin body with malt and more roast. Light bittersweet chocolate finish. Almost commonplace.

The good: deep roasty notes in the flavor. Almost smoky. Lots of carbon, which is always a good thing in a porter. The bad: Metallic taste on the finish.

Espresso bean nose. Slight resinous hop presence. Thick, smooth syrupy milk chocholate character.

Bottle: Coffee, cocoa, and fruit nose, maybe some licorice; mild, smooth sumatra coffee and dark chocolate roastiness; smooth bitterness in the tail. This is a nice, drinkable porter if a tad bland.

black with a tan ring of head, sweet and creamy, roasty flavor somewhat of a medicine like flavor, syrupy malts, dry finish, not a bad porter and not a bad random combination of words for the name either, drugs.

really dark, some mohogany hints around edges. thi, light brown head. roastey and chocolatey, perhaps a hint of soy? roasted barley all over. chocolatey front with light coffee hints. fizzy, filling palete dries out yeilding a primarily roastey, somewhat creamy, tasty offering. a mild spicy hop character throughout
