Commercial Description:
Wood aged Pale Quadruppel. Imagine a blend of Scaldis and Cantillon Pure Kriek. Forget it, there is nothing like it (yet). Vlad is shocking to your sour beer senses and taste buds, which do not understand that such a balanced delicate sour beer can be so drinkable and appeal to so many people while being extreme. But don’t forget, it will still open a can of 10.2% whoop-ass on your ass after all the pomp & circumstance of what an amazing beer it is subsides.

On tap at Uber. Pours cloudy, bubbly orange/copper with a nice frothy off-white head. Amazing aroma of sour fruits (apple, cherry, lemon), whiskey, honey, slightly cheesy. Tastes like it smells. Nice tart apple finish with a touch of malt.

Pours a deep purply amber. Nose is insane! Dark fruits, raisin, tart fruits, unripe grapes, sweet sugar, fruity esthers, mild grains, lactic sourness, wood, candy sugar, some hints of spice. Flavor is super full bodied candy, sour apple, tart grapes, vinous, red wine characters, wood, soft fig, dates, lactic sourness. This beer is absolutely amazing! I need more.

Tap at Stong Ale 08. I had expected to have pequad at the fest, but Ron wanted to surprise me. Ive had both components of this blend, but I could not have imagined they would work so well together. Pours orange with a 2 finger tan head. Nose is tart, sweet, and holy shit, amazingly sour. Taste is sour tart, royally amazing, wow wow wow.

draft @ the dray - clear, dark gold with lots of lactic sourness on the nose; dry, soft and super sweet; lemons, sugar and almost syrupy; the sourness takes a back seat and lets all the apples, oak, yeasty spice, sugar and dry malt; samples direct from the barrel room may have spoiled me on this one; pretty much a masterpiece that crushes stylistic guidelines

On tap at the 2008 Strong Ale Festival.. Nice brett aroma. Nice sourness (I would list it as a sour beer). Very easy to drink. Amber color. Wonderful. One of my favorites of the fest.

Tasted on tap at the Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival 12/5/2008. This Belgian Strong Ale pours an orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of funk. A medium bodied BSA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice blend of citrus and funk. Long lasting tartness/sourness, with a touch of leather and wood. Interesting beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sour and tart.

2009 GABF Taster and out of the bottle later in the week. Pours out a maroon/orange topped with a sand head. Aroma out of this world tons of stuff going on. Pit fruit, bitter grapes, sweet cherries and oak. Taste just as crazy. Lots of cherries, sweet candy, oak, and plenty of tart to balance everything out. The guys at Cascade have done it again.

On tap at the Raccoon Lodge. Pours lightly hazed orange/gold with a soft fizzy white head. Dry and acidic with a citrus note to the sourness. When I first had this at the Holiday Ale Fest the sourness and acidity seemed much more mild, but I prefer the acidity and sourness that came with this glass. Very dry and sour finish, excellent brew, one of the best sours I’ve had from the NW.
