Aroma of chocolate, coffee and molasses. Sweet and papery, gassy and light bodied. Dominated by molasses and cardboard with notes of cocoa powder. Simplistic, sketchy malt character. Finishes lifeless with medium bitterness. If you do a subtle beer you better do it well, as there is nowhere to hide your flaws... larsniclas (3389), Gothenburg, Sweden

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2008 This must be newly bottled? It came in the BOM club, so I’m surprised to see only 6 ratings. Anyway, solid brown. The last time I had a brown where I put the glass down and said WOW was Brooklyn brown. This isn’t that good. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA

Slightly nutty aroma, very light earthy hop aroma. Very mild, almost bland taste, some light nuttiness, some hop bitterness on the finish, but not unpleasant, and certainly sessionable. dchmela (1456), Orlando, Florida, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Cask at Redlight Redlight. Pours a translucent chestnut brown with a small, foamy, tan head. Delicate, ribbony lacing circles the glass. The aroma shows a profile of caramel and brown sugar, with lightly spicy floral hop notes and a touch of light cream. Flavors are similar, but the floral hops are intensified a bit, increasing the bitterness, especially on the finish. The mouthfeel falls on the lighter side of medium bodied, with a bit more carbonation than I was expecting from a cask brew. Decent, easy drinking brew, but nothing really special. redlight (1492), Winter Park, Florida, USA

Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Smooth and sweet, very malty, with a hop spiciness in the background. Extremely smooth and easy to drink, this makes for an excellent beer to serve cask conditioned.
