Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a copper color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma is light floral hops with light tangy malts underneath. The flavor is light floral and fruity hops with light malts underneath. There is a sour nutty flavor on the finish. A very pleasant if unspectacular beer. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 4, 2006 pretty mild for a APA but no bad. A golden-yellow hue slightly opaque. Thin white head. Aroma was mainly hops but with a mild sweet malt note. Flavor was a watery bitter hop with some sweet malt but it was mainly hoppy. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 31, 2006 I don’t remember who brought it to the January gathering, but I think it was Mullman. Anyway, on with the rating. Poured a pale amber with a fizzy off-white head. Bubble gum and grapefruit hops aroma. Flavor is one-dimensional hoppiness with a toffee finish. Light, pretty straight-forward, not bad. ELPADRINO (70), The Woodlands, Texas, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Pours cloudy yellow with 1 inch head. Weak hops aroma. Taste is bitter hops with a dry bitter aftertaste. Decent body, but too much acidity leaves the taste with hints of detergent. SledgeJr (3003), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 21, 2006 In the bottle. Thanks to pman for this one! A January 2006 Beer-of-the-Month Club selection. Pours a pretty much expected rich gold color that just falls shy of amber. The head is thick, white and full of large carbonation foam bubbles. Residual lacing is pronounced. A mixed aroma that is a little pungent from the hops, but also a smell of cotton candy. Interesting complexity. Medium hop bitterness. Medium carbonation. Sort of a metallic mouthflavor resides far too long on the tongue. Has a lingering bitterness as it warms. The metallic taste hurts the beer. porterhouse (1163), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 16, 2006 (Bottle, best before 11/20/05 (oops!)) Cloudy yellowish amber pour, foamy biscuit head. Aroma: honeyish sweetness and malt. Mouthfeel smooth, pleasant. Good lacing. Tastes of malt, honey, grass, bitterness in varying order with each draw. Pretty good, nothing special. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 14, 2006 This is a fairly light APA, but tasty and refreshing nonetheless. The aroma isn’t very strong, a mild caramel with grapefruit and resinous hop scents. Light bodied, it has a sweet caramel malt flavor with a nice balance of pine, grapefruit, and lemon zest bitterness. Nice lingering bitter finish. With a 5% abv, this is good session material.
