Well, it’s definitely red...
Deep bright red with small quickly-dissipating white head. Lace evident. The smell is dry. A light sweet smell.
Taste is spicy and dry. Malty with hints of fruit. Nice dry hoppy finish. Light to medium-bodied. Quite tasty.
A very good red ale.

Caramel, tad sourdough, lemon, Clean orangy red color, small white beige head that faded to a ring. Sweet bitter flavors, same as aromas with a soapy roasty addition. Medium body, creamy smooth mouthfeel, roasty bitter finish. Tasty ale. Easy drinking. Take one if you can get it OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2005 Dark copper pour with a small tan head that lingers a little. Caramel on the aroma and malts. Flavor is mostly malt and caramel. I can mostly taste the crystal malt coming though. Some toffee. The hops keep this one honest. Simple brew but tasty. Not bad at all. Dark copper-orange-mahogany colored body with a small, beige head atop. Aroma of light metal, husky graininess and a tinge of light toasted caramel and almonds. Flavor of toffee, plain sugar, a bit of dry/sour yeast and a hint of roast. Very simple, yet has a good balance of juicy hops and not-so-hard crystal malt. Medium body, moderate carbonation. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Feb 20, 2005 Bottled. Dark red. Roasty. Medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Lacking in flavour and body, there’s some roasty cereals but not much else. jimhilt (1683), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 8, 2005 Pours with a two-finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Clear amber color. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Hoppy nose. Starts as a mix of malt and hops but finishes hoppy with a hoppy aftertaste. The brewer says "5 different malts and 3 hop varietals, carefully blended, results in a perfect balance". But the hops dominate. $1.35 for a 12 oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA.
