Commercial Description:
Our flagship, this Irish-Style Red Ale proudly won a gold medal at the 2000 World Beer Cup. A combination of 5 different malts and 3 hop varietals, carefully blended, results in a perfect balance. Full-flavored and medium-bodied, the Riptide Red provides surprising complexity for such an easy-drinking brew.

Manogany color with medium sized head. Malty and lightly hopped. Medium bodied with some other tastes of grass and citrus. More of an amber ale that an irish in my opinion.

Pours deep garnet with browns, reds and oranges to compliment the creamy dark tan head. The Aroma is toasted and sweet and nice in character. The flavor is a bite sour but with some nice bitterness and roasted flavor. It has a smooth creamy finish rounding out a nice beer.

Decent dark red color, with a good creamy top. Flavor feels thin. Could use a shot in the arm. All this seems to bring to the table is a modest hop complex.

Pours reddish brown with a small white head. Very malty. Not much hops either. Taste is smooth and put together well. I’m not a fan of red ales too much, but this is good stuff.

Pours red with a white head that lingers for a bit. Taste was mostly hoppy with some hints of malt. I would have liked a little more maltiness.

This beer came to me from my beer club. I am not overly familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a dark red/brown color with a small tan head. There is a malty aroma with a hint of molasses and fruit. Thick mouthfeel. Sour and malty flavor with a minimal amount of hops. A bit sour on the aftertaste. A very drinkable beer.

Dark Red Color. Medium white foamy head. Aroma is malty and sweet, with some grapefruity hop aroma as well. A medium bodied amber/Irish Ale. Malts are nutty, fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Nicely balanced. Very smooth taste. Perhaps a touch sweet, but a nice drinkable beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
