Commercial Description:
Our flagship, this Irish-Style Red Ale proudly won a gold medal at the 2000 World Beer Cup. A combination of 5 different malts and 3 hop varietals, carefully blended, results in a perfect balance. Full-flavored and medium-bodied, the Riptide Red provides surprising complexity for such an easy-drinking brew.

Sweet, medium bodied, a pleasant spring beer. Not my favorite style, but it stood up pretty well to Boulevard's Irish Ale, my favorite of the style. A little sweeter, but not bad.

Poured a clear red color with almost no ead, aroma was sweet almost like honey, with hop notes. Taste was mainly hoppy, with a smooth, balacend malt presence.

11/8/03: bottle.
red-brown body with ample almond colored head. sweet malt and hop aroma with a hint of honey. first taste was somewhat bad, but after a few drinks, and as the beer warmed, it tasted better. a bit of a tea taste up front, followed by honey and some sourness towards the end.

Very malty ale with a nice fruity flavor and a mild bitterness. Rich mouthfeel and slightly sour aftertaste. A pleasant ale.

Malty! MMMmmmm. The words 'red ale' lowered my expectations, but overall, pretty good.

Bottled. Nothing special. Tasted and looke like an Irish red. Nothing wrong with it.

Nice big head with good lacing. Color of tea. Mildly roasted malt nose. Smooth, well balanced taste made me wish I had another bottle. Pleasing finish.

Beige head. Big floral, fruity nose, very inviting. Ruby amber hue. Sweet, pale malts, medium body, creamy mouthfeel, long luscious finish, ruby-red grapefruity, pleasantly bitter, and very smooth. A clean brew, my favorite irish so far.
