Nice unexpected smoky toasted malt flavor, along with bitter finish. Pretty plain overall, but decently drinkable. JCB (1768), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 20, 2008 12oz bottle from beer club. Not a bad rendition of a style I generally crap on. Typical looking red ale, with a decent sweet nose. What I like about it is that it’s got a slightly dry character owing to some nice hopping. A fairly long citric finish rather than the typical malty mess. Not bad. Maria (6265), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Red-golden with a nice, creamy head. The aroma is slightly fruity with caramel, actually more like fruit-caramels. The flavour has the same fruit-caramels, notes of citrus/tangerine, malt and a long finish. The balance between malt and hops is quite charming. 2420 dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 14, 2007 12 oz bottle from LooseCannon. Clear, dark amber/reddish pour with a thick beige head that disintegrates quickly. Solid grapefruit and caramel nose. Thick sheet of lace. Medium body, well carbonated. Nice pink grapefruit flavors, a decent malt backbone holds up well against a fairly aggressive hoppiness. A tad thin in the finish, but a light bubbly quality makes this all the more drinkable. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a reddish copper body under a thin film of beige head that faded quickly. Nice toasted and slightly caramel malty nose with a noticable floral hoppiness. A nice dry toasted malt flavor up font with a little graininess and some moderately bitter hops on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a slightly husky texture and pleasant soft carbonation. A pleasant easy drinking Irish Red with lots of flavor. LooseCannon (931), Norfolk, Virginia, USA
