Nice clear red body, and a good, long lasting head. Somewhat faint aroma which is a little sweet and a little hoppy. The first few sips were pretty good: nice balance between caramel sweetness and grassy hops. After a while, it started to become bland, but I wouldn’t say that it was ever bad. A decent beer. Unfortunately, was served overchilled, and with a lemon wedge, as is often the case in restaurants, which masked some of the flavours. Will have to re-rate this one some day... dp (512), uniontown, Ohio, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 7, 2006 Any first impressions?
-An appropriate off-white head creates cute lacing, and rests upon a luminous, clear ochre.
-Diplomatic wooden and citrusy hoppiness latches on to the nostrils.
-Caramel apple sweetness and fruitiness is well-balanced with the aforementioned hops in both aroma and flavor.
-Carbonation is prickly but does not bother the flavor profile.
What if you dig deeper?
-Ending hop bitterness is crunchy and lingering, prolonging the wooden hop flavor, even adding a little accompanying bark.
-An adequately quenching body may appear thin to some.
-A fruit salad based on orange pulp gently sits in the wooden bowl.
-Pretty hoppy for an Irish Red, but who cares, this is a fun hoppy quaffer.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2005 This bottled brew marked best before 2/25/00 poured a small sized head of light brown colored fine to medium sized frothy mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated hazy brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was mediumly malted and hopped with a slight Irish Red note. The mouth feel was tingly and yet smmoth with a mild hop bite. The flavoe contained notes of malts hops and a little of that Irish Red flavor.
