Commercial Description:
Our hugely popular Summer Ale exploded onto the scene just two short years ago. Light, yet flavorful, this brew complements seafood, steak or salad equally well. Balanced, with an aromatic hop finish, the Summer Ale brings sunshine to your stomach.

Bottle. Poured with a small, off-white head, that quickly diminished down to an 1/8 inch foam. Nice golden-orange color and very clear. Aroma is of very light yeast and malt. Body is medium on the palate, slightly slick, with average carbonation. Very nice. Nice flavor, slightly sweet, with an average-lasting finish that was quite pleasant. Goes down very easy. A summer beer that is actually set apart from the rest... and one of the better blondes I’ve had in a while as well.

7-12-08. Poured yellow orange with a diminishing head. Smelled of caramel and citrus zest. Tasted of some light fruit, caramel, and some zesty hops. Pretty good stuff.

(Rating #1929)

Pours gold into a shaker. Off-white head recedes to skim surface. Caramel and citrus aromas. Crisp and refreshing with smooth caramel malt upfront and a slight hop finish.

Golden-amber. Peachy with a hint of caramel. Fresh, peachy with a slight fruitness and light pale malt balance.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold body under an enormous fizzy foamy white head that took forever to settle. The nose is fairly clean, yet fairly boring as well. Light hay and a touch of floral hops. The flavor is that same boring light pale malts with a touch of floral hops and a lingering doughy maltiness. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied with a watery texture and too much fizzy prickly carbonation. A lingering doughy stickiness remains. Overall, pretty boring and not especially pleasant.

12 oz bottle from LooseCannon - thanks Ron! Best by 072007. Lightly hazed gold with a short lived white head. Grainy nose, a bit of grapefruit citrus. Lively mouthfeel, medium body. Lightly citrus flavors balanced pretty well by the grain and light caramel. Rather refreshing. I realize this is a "summer" beer, but with a bit more punch this could really be great! It grew on me until, at the bottom of the glass,, I actually wished I had another. Pretty well done!
