Commercial Description:
Our hugely popular Summer Ale exploded onto the scene just two short years ago. Light, yet flavorful, this brew complements seafood, steak or salad equally well. Balanced, with an aromatic hop finish, the Summer Ale brings sunshine to your stomach.

Any first impressions?
-A bold ring crowns the clear yellow gold.
-Sweet peach/mango esters top the hay-like cereal.
-Grainy dryness is well-balanced to the wooden hop flavor.
-The frothy carbonation never gets excessive and serves drinkability quite well.

What if you dig deeper?
-Peeking citrusy hops and urine-like saltiness is found in the nose.
-The curtain call consists of a sumptuous wooden, mineral hop bitterness.
-A little more pils malt apport in the flavor profile and I would’ve been in estival heaven.
-Perfect for a bright summer day, peacefully glancing at a Maine fishing harbor, this clean, accessible, flavorful golden ale was a pleasant surprise.

Bottle; best before Oct ’06.

Smells sweet with some yeast. Color is golden yellow with thicker-than expected head. Tastes somewhat sweet with citrus, dough, and hops making big appearances. I wouldn’t mind if it were a tad less hoppy, but it’s overall a nice "lawn-mower" beer, a pleasant light tasting beer.

(Bottle (best by 7/10/06) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/portland/ target=blank>Downeast Beverage Co.) Pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is sort of doughy with some hops. Mouthfeel dryish, a little watery. Some lacing. Taste is sort of bready with fairly strong bitterness overlaying. This bottle had a pretty good, fresh yeasty quality. Pretty average but drinkable.

Not a bad beer at all. Pretty light, but the perfect outdoor summer beer as its better than your normal light cheap beer and you prob wont get wasted off of it, but it will refresh you.

Middle of the road summer ale. Pretty watery, and not hoppy enough for my tastes. Easy drinking though. Pretty good on a hot day.

Clear goldish color to it with a small white head. Aroma is of old rubber and some sugar. Weird bitterness for a summer beer, just wierd.

INteresting. Very thin and not very summer like. A little more of a dash of flavor than your average pale ale but nothing to get excited about.
