Aroma is hoppy and herbal with hints of bready malt. Rich amber in color with a pretty two finger thick off white head. Caramal malt pops out in the fore followed by ample hop bitterness..smooth bready malts linger on to the finish which is herbal and clean. Pretty nice offering.

Nice color, a deep amber/copper with a frothy beige head that subsides to a soap scum look a bit too quickly. Good lacing. The aroma is herbal hops over caramel and bitter nuts. The flavor is carameland toffee almost overpowered by the herb and spice bitterness. Finishes on a lingering, earthy note. Nice warmer.

(Bottle, best by 2/16/06) Deep copper body, nice biege head. Aroma of caramel, malt, bread. Good lacing. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is mild bitterness overlaying mild maltiness. Nice stuff for sure.

Good solid Maine winter beer. Casco is really doing a good job with their offerings. Reminds me a lot of a few other winters.

Clear, brown, with a thick tan head. Smells of hops and has a sweet yet hoppy tastes. Overall I found this beer a little bit bland.

Maine Brewers Festival 2005. First beer of the festival! Light brown body with a medium white head (3+) Mild sweet malt and hops in the aroma. Pleasant hops in the flavour over toasty biscuity notes. Moderate bitterness. Alcohol was not at all apparent. Average to medium palate. Decent.

From notes: Pours out a dark brown colow with a nice sized off-white head. The aroma is somewhat fruity. Nice complex flavor of brown sugar, yeast and some spice. Slight hop here or there also. Good beer

This may be an older sample. Pours a medium brown that provided a good head that quickly diminished and left lacing down the glass. Aroma of malt, spice and yeast. Medium mouthfeel with ample carbonation and nice malty flavor. Subtle yeast and spice finish. I’ll be sure to pick up a six of this next seasons Winter Ale, this is one of Casco’s best.
