Draft at Hood River Hops Fest 2007. An amber beer wtih an orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light touch of butter, while the flavor is sweet malty with a spicy touch of ginger.

Cloudy straw colour. Citric, woody, assertive hop aroma. The first thing that strikes me when I take a sip is tough to describe - phenolic a bit, maybe iodiney or metallic. I think it’s a hop character and I’ve tasted it before. I also appear to be highly sensitive to whatever it is. But I find it very distracting. Granville Island Bitter had it on cask once, and Central City’s IPA has had it every now and again as well.
Anyway, there are some great pale malt flavours in here, and crisp hoppiness, but if that’s a characteristic of the hop they are using, I just don’t like it.
