Amber deep dark cristal color, poor head, a little malty aroma, the flavor is poor but is fresh and light, no good taste, steel in the finish

12oz bottle. Pours a real nice dark amber color, light tan head. Not much of an aroma, smells watery. Not much flavor at all, very thin. Typical Mexican beer.

Thanks FEMSA! Take a good name and run it into the ground. Don’t even bother to change the art on the label, even though this is clearly a different beer than Casta Morena. Anyway, after that rant... I was disappointed by this. The predominant aroma and flavor was smoke. The combination of malts was just too sweet for my taste. There was a hint of some interesting hops in there, but it just couldn’t get out. The color was a golden copper, and the head was white and left some nice lacing. It’s really not that bad a beer, but it’s not up to Casta’s prior standards.
