This formed a small head over a straw colored body.
The aroma was restrained and delicate but exhibited a yeasty bready maltiness along with some characteristic Belgian aspects to it.
Light palate, smooth and easy drinking. This beer is all about is subtleties not its forcefulness. eaglefan538 (2401), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2006 Poured a yellow color with a relatively small head that sustained itself through the drink. The aroma was somewhat malty and sweet with a funkiness to it (not sure barn or hay was there). The flavor was pretty darned sweet, followed by a bit of funkiness. Somewhat toffee and caramel like, which I don’t remember from the La Bav I had from this style. Mouthfeel was fairly thick and sweet. GG (1672), NorCal, California, USA

Not sure what to expect, but now that I’ve had it I know that it’s pretty damn good. Aroma was yeasty, like fresh bread. I could also pick-up slight hints of pears. The appearance was incredible with a lacing that was eye popping. Light yellow/orangish color with a slight haze. Mouthfeel was very nice, slightly harsh with the carbonation but nothing that detracted this beer in the least. Flavor was honeyish sweet, very yeasty, a nice bite and malty. Easy going down, I was suprised I’d finished the 750ml bottle so quickly! nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Mine poured with a big cloudy white head that dissapated quickly - pale straw color. Great mouthfeel and very smooth. I wouldn’t drink it everyday, but its worth having once. Pours a rich, dark cloudy golden color with absolutely no head whatsoever. Complex aroma- I get banana, medicines, acetaldehyde, and pomegranate. This is a beer that I just want to smell for hours and hours. No carbonation. Flavor is a thick spicey and flowery potion punctuated by fruity sweetness and tartness. Strange. I’m not sure that I’d ever try this again. Sure smells good, though. slang (407), Columbia, South Carolina, USA

Moderate hop bitterness and grass flavor that carries over from the nose. Good stuff. It’s common here in Columbia. thornecb (1810), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
