A cloudy blond that leaves some lacing in the glass. Aromas are light, wheat, yeasts, kind of a farmhouse hay and caramel. Needs to breathe. Flavors are earthy and farmy, too. Caramel echoes with the fruity grains of the beer. Thick, long palate that has some spiciness to it. A solid farmhouse ale.

From a 750mL bottle, dated 2001. Pours a dull gold color with a quickly dissipating head. Nose of pears, honey and an earthiness. Syrupy mouth-feel, with more pears and some spices. Finish is crisp and refreshing. A fine brew!

Poured a cloudy orange body with a nice white head. Aroma is quite spicy and has a very Belgian (I’m new to this style) feel to it. Hints of bananas as well. Flavor is the same and it was enjoyable. Mostly dry finish... low bitterness.

My first biere de garde and I enjoyed it very much. French in origin, but all characteristics are of a Belgian ale, much like a saison, but there is also complex yeast and malt make this similar to an abbey style beer. Combined, these qualities show why biere de gard is hard to fit into any category. This beer is very floral, with a pleasant light body. Some light fruit flavors.

Whole Foods, Sandy Springs, Ga. - 750 ml bottle. Pours a slightly murky, medium golden with a very frothy white starchy head with excellent lacing. Fresh, lemony aroma with hints of mown grass. Flavor has some slight caramel notes, some essences of raw cookie dough and a hint of lemon. Mouthfeel is decently sticky and thick. Astyle I am still tryin got get a handle on - but this appears to be a good sample of one.

I picked this bottle up in Iowa. The body is a glowing straw/copper color with a thin whispy white head. The aroma is a slight sour grains and some saltwater taffy. Fresh smelling. The flavor is a light sour grain with some silage qualities. Lemongrass. Smooth and good. Sweet, medium-full body. Dryness on the finish.

750 thanks to Blake. Labeled "Blond Biere de Garge". Clear yellow body, thin white head that laces pretty well. Taffy aroma with light lemon grass and lime (mineral). The flavor focuses on sweet pale malt with spicy lemon grass. Wheat bread crust and light stone. A well put-together bier de garde.
