2.04.07 To begin with I was slightly disappointed in the fact that a biere de garde was so filtered. Seemed too light in flavor and mouthfeel.

Clearish yellow. Not much head. Smells like a typical lager. Almost skunky. Some fruit in the taste. Clean finish.

Hmm, pours yellow/blonde with lots and lots of floaties and a thin white head. Berries and acidity dominate the aroma. The flavor was far to corn syrupy, lots of sweet malt, little acidity and a little fruit. Man, after the Oro De Calabaza, I was expecting something far better than this from a biere de garde.

Pours a golden hue with slight haze. Smell of light citrus and floral notes. Taste is sweetened malt, slight light fruit, honey and a musty yeast flavor. Slightly dry. This is pretty tasty.

Bottle. Poured hazy amber with an average fizzy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate spicy sour citrus aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Medium citrus sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

(07.09.06) One pint 9.4 oz brown bottle from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. 6.4% ABV. Best before 12/26/06. Slight malt aroma. Poured hazy golden yellow with medium white head. Average carbonation. Medium bodied ale that starts dry with toasted malt flavor. Some sharpness in the mouth (carbonation?). Dry finish with light malt fade. An excellent dry, crisp beer.

Absolutely mindblowing. This brew was everything a corked beer should be. Complex with floral notes, grassy qualities and a solid light malt underpinning, yet emminently balanced and drinkable. Very soft silky mouthfeel made it easy to put away. A session beer at 5.9%. Beautiful deep clear golden yellow with a thick rocky white, she was a looker as well. Near perfect.
