| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 13, 2008 Red amber and heaped with froth. Waxy, nutty, grainy aroma in the manner of a Mediterranean interpretation of a ’red’/amber ale. Flavour fuller, and quite a pleasant balance of caramelised malt nuttiness, bread, cherry and pear. The color is truly amazing, just like liquid amber. The aroma is malty and the mouthfeel is kind of round and prickly. The flavour is kind of apple juice-like at first, but then I get notes of candy sugar and sweetness. The finish is both sweet, a bit acidic, a bit bitter and it has a burnt note of apples.
