Commercial Description:

25.4 oz bottle (Bottled on 1/13/06) Binny’s Naperville-A light amber body with a nice off white head and it has an aroma of floral, yeasty, hoppy, and malty. Taste of floral with a little yeast and a malty finish. Nice tasting brew.

Bottled. Coppery amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel, slight mustardyness and raisins. Flavour is big malts along with some slight raisins in it. Quite watery. The aroma was more promising...

Bottled 01-13-06. Pours a hazy, amber color with an off-white, average-sized, pillowy head; the head is mostly diminshing leaving minimal lace. Nose is fairly nice with notes of toffee, raisin, some apricot, lightly toasted caramels, and a grainy yeast note. Flavor is a bit of a letdown; notes of grainy malts and toffee with faint raisins and figs and a floral bitterness that almost seems disassociated from the malt notes. Palate is almost medium, lively, and silky smooth; nice feel, but not as round or full as great examples of the style. Finishes with a decent bitterness after most of the sweetness disappears with lingering notes of toffee, faint yeast, and a mild warmth. Not a bad example of a dying style, but lacked complexities, unique character, and the bold rich mouthfeel of perfect examples of the style. A bit like a watered down version of the style but still approachable and pleasant.

Big bottle. Nice amber colour. Off-white head. Mildly roasted breadlike maltiness in the aroma. The flavour has a mild cookie-like maltiness, fruity and and a nice good touch of sweetness. Somewhat mild aftertaste.

Bottle. Classic Biere De Garde. Nice big with fizzy head that quickly diminished. Amber colour. Aroma was very dry and light dusty with notes of fruit, caramel. Light to medium bodied with an average carbonation. Flavour was nice balanced bitter and sweet. Slightly bitter finish.

bottle from a local shop for local people. Deep, bright orange-amber w. creamy off-white head. Looks nice in my new snifter. Sweet aroma of corn bread and malts. Boring, watered down taste of spicy orange, toffee and hops. A bit of a let down and I wasn’t even expecting much.
