| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2005 Bottle - corked and caged. Amber body with a small tanned head. Nose is rich with fruits, wood, light grass, sweet malts, and almost brown sugar. Taste is sweet ripe fruits, light wood and grass, creamy malts, light brown sugar, some caramel and light toasty notes. Body is light and bubbly but not overdone carbonation. Finishes with more wood, light grass, fresh fruit, caramel, light brown sugar and sweet malts. Based on other ratings I’ve seen, this should ahve been a terrible beer. Either I got a fresh one or I’m just not picking up on the stuff that made it unpleasant to others. There was no sourness to my bottle at all, rather it was fresh, pleasantly sweet and very drinkable. Kinz (2205), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 3, 2005 Medium amber, head fades quickly. Aroma is woody and sour. Flavor has a faint note of fresh cut oak, followed by a clear taste of Granny Smith apples. Abrupt, faintly bitter finish. Should also note that the beer had definite sour component that melded with the apple flavors. I should have liked this beer, but frankly, I didn’t. Not certain why. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 12, 2005 This is a deep amber/copper color with a modest fizzy head that departs soon after the pour. It’s got a strong candy-caramel aroma along with crabapples, hay, and a hit of sourness. The flavor is mainly caramel with the apples and a hop bitterness hitting the back of the throat in the finish. The tongue is left feeling soiled and sour. Interesting. TBone (6767), Pori, Finland

Nut brown, a bit hazy, small tanned creamy head. Strong rye-malty nose. Rye and malt also dominate the flavor. A bit sour. Märzen-like brew. FlacoAlto (2473), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 23, 2005 This beer is lightly hazy and has a copper color. The head is a light tan color. I get an aroma of cider, and as I go deeper into the aroma I get lots of fruity apple scents as well as a background of graininess, and a light herbal character. The beer produces a large head, but the carbonation is relatively light. This is mainly a light refreshing beer. Up front it has a bit of sweetness, which, carries throughout the taste profile. Tastes of caramel, cider, a bit of astringency, and a bit of plum. Quite clean overall, basically this is quite simplistic and straight forward. A nice, refreshing beer. stouby (1944), Holbaek, Denmark

Coppercoloured with light brown head, almost lasting. Nice lacings. Aroma of malt (raisin, brown sugar, sweet fruit) and hops. Flavor very sweet and moderate bitter, good balance. Medium to full body, creamy, soft carbonated. scotty (832), Scotland

BIG on the nose and just as big on the palate, rich malty, and so..o..o satisfying. This is a very classy brew..go on, treat your tastebuds. Not a brew for a session tho’
