Very light aroma, mellow caramel meets saw dust and pencil shavings dryness. Woody, buttery, toffeish. Not bad, but not great. A bit too mild on the palate, it reaches a point where I wonder if this is not flavoured water with the thinness and low carbonation, very mineral and lagerish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2005 This has a clean light amber body with a pleasant rocky head The nose is a mild one and I detect a scant fruitiness. For a biere de garde this has less of a creamy mouthfeel and lingering body than say, a 3 monts. Not to worry. I had walked about 7 kilometres before finding this bar in Paris and so it was a welcome break. Ernest (4491), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/20 | Feb 15, 2005 Head is initially small, fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is
medium yellow. Aroma is notes of cooked hamburger, apples, and plastic,
hint of nutmeg. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is
lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter, unclean. Medium body,
velvety texture, lively carbonation. One of the most unusual and
disturbing aromas I’ve had. Second one in the last year that has
reminded me (really distinctly) of hamburger (other was a recent batch
of La Folie). Total drain pour, like a malt liquor, and at $10/bottle,
that hurts. JPDIPSO (4911), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 8, 2005 Golden color with a small lid of off white bubbles. Light malt with a mild floral and apple cider/vinegar aroma. Dry yeasty start with plenty of sweetness in the middle. this really is much closer to a cider than a beer in flavor. Dry finish with a hint of malt. Interesting, but not exciting. joergen (8610), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Sweet aroma with notes of alcohol. Malty flavour with notes of yeast and fruit.
Very drinkable, and more interesting than most pilseners, but nothing special. dornoy (681), Lyngby, Denmark

Flavour is malty, a bit fruity and enough sweetness to compensate. Very pleasing balance, feel very fresh and does not taste alcoholic at all. I’m rather partial in favour of Ch’ti beer, and this was confirmed in this very nice brew. AAO (102), Næstved, Denmark
