Commercial Description:

Poured dark brown with a medium sized tan head. Malty aroma. Flavour of matls and sweet caramel. Medium bodiet. Has a discreet and bitter finish. Nothing special.

Bottled (75cl) Dark brown with beige head. Massive pressure on the bottle. Cellar-like aromas. Light sweetness in flavor, with a quite gassy mouthfeel. Small bitterness in the finish. (051104)

Corked and caged bottle. Large fizzy tan head that was mostly lasting, fine-small sized bubbles, fair lacing, transparent, carbonated, and a reddish brown hue. Aroma was malty, caramel, and sweet and ditto for the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium body. Nicely done and worthy of a try IMMHO.

75cl bottle from Auchan. Dark ruby colour, tight lasting beige head. Liquorice, choc/coffee aromas. Nice in mouth. Lots of tasty malt. Some hop on end. Well crafted beer. Choc/coffee/liquorice on end

This corked and caged bottled brew with a cork marked 2-27 poured a foamy large sized light brown colored head of finely sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a very dark caramel brown colored semi-transparent softly carbonated body and a good lacing. The aroma was nice with sweet caramel malty notes. The mouth feel was initially mildly tingly with a sweet smooth finish. The flavor contained notes of sweet caramel malts.

(Bottle 75 cl) Very dark brown, almost close to black. Full body with notes of roasted malt and chocolate. Sweetish with a discreet, bitter palate.

(750ml bottle) There are times when I wish my quest for new beers did not lead me to beers like this one. It is not a bad beer, but considering what else I could have gotten for my $13, I am quite disappointed. Medium tan head atop a clear, dark red-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, nutty, some raisin. Taste is moderately sweet, nutty, caramel, cola, dark fruit. Finish is nutty and light coffee. Watery light-medium body with low carbonation.

This looks like weak coffee with a fizzy light brown head that soon reduces to a mere film. It has a mild malt nose that has a tartness to it. The body is quite light, near watery. The taste is somewhat sour, malty with plums. Not much to the finish, just a mild "dirty" maltiness.
