| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 12, 2007 Pours a medium yellow hue with a thin, foamy, white head that disintegrates quickly. The aroma smacks of alcohol, stewed grains, oatmeal, honey and overripe peaches. The flavour is more of the same, though with decidedly less power. Very flimsy sweetness at first with a dull acidity, washing into a dirty, grainy and alcohol laden finish. Aftertaste is long and drying with an alum powder feel to it. Watery, medium body still manages to leave behind an unclean film in the mouth, not to be brushed away by the penetrating carbonation. Dirty and alcoholic, say no more. 33cl bottle, Leffe goblet, bbe 01/06/08. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden

Clear golden colour. Low head. Chlorin aroma with glue and pretty sticky feel overall. Glue dominates the flavour, which is very one-dimensional. Pretty short taste with no depth. Sticky swimmingpool beer. iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 2, 2007 Pale yellow/gold with medium sized head. Not much carbonation. Sweet & floral aroma, lots of sugar and honey. Taste was dominated by the honey. Crude: way too sweet with nothing to counterbalance it. Light mouthfeel, very thin but a bit cloying from the sweetness. cathcacr (592), Portland, Oregon, USA

Technical bluster:
$4.99 for a 25’er of Triple, I’m thinking "gee, that’ll be money well-spent. Gee, that was money well-spent. Nice to see that it wasn’t just me or this bottle (it was slightly chilled, served up in a snobbish snifter or bulbous tulip or whatever the hell you call it); again, the RateBeer community comes through with flying colors! Flavor is a bit notable for at least being metallic. Appearance would be good on other beers, but hardly minimally adequate for a "Tripel".
Very average.
