Slightly sickly aroma. Bit syrupy and treacley in mouth. Not as good as the blonde or brune from the same brewery. Some toffee on end and some hop but overall not that impressed hotstuff (3176), Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2005 Corked & caged bottle. Medium white frothy head that was mostly lasting, fair lacing, fine-small sized bubbles, transparent, carbonated, and a yellow golden hue. Aroma was malty, sweet and fruity. Flavor was sweet, malty and smooth. Tingly and thin mouthfeel. Light body. Worth trying IMO. blacktav (1), Ireland does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Sep 27, 2005 Full bodied and full of flavour. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2005 This corked and caged bottled brew whose cork was marked 2-27 poured a large sized head of white colored foamy finely sized mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a transparent orange colored carbonated body and a fair lacing. The aroma was fruity vinous doughy and malty. The mouth feel was tingly from start to finish with a medium strength vinous finish. The flavor contained notes of malty sweetness that was well balanced with some caramel. It was rather yummy. jbrus (4894), Delft, Netherlands
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 21, 2005 Bottled. Aroma of sweet malts. Bit boring aroma because there’s nothing else there. Golden color, white head, good lace. Very sweet malty beer with a light fruitiness, little sticky. Nothing wrong but a bit boring. Gave me a feeling of a nice beer that’s overcooked (if that was possible). Maybe adding a bit refreshing hops would do it good. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 13, 2005 Golden colour with a huge white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, honey. Taste is sweet, honey and orange. Medium to full bodied, moderately carbonated. Lightly bitter finish. Nicely drinkable. I quite enjoyed this. maeib (4766), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Bottled. A clear golden coloured beer with a small fast disappearing white head. The aroma is honey sweet with no expected spiciness. The taste is also way too swett for a tripel with floral honey tastes dominating. Not that bad a beer just really poor within its style. Drank my share of the 750 quite quickly as it wasn’t woth savouring. argo0 (6978), Washington DC, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 3, 2005 (750ml bottle) Clear apple juice body topped by quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma is sweet, honey, orange, light apple and strawberry. Taste is moderately sweet, honey, orange, finishing lightly herbal. Medium body with a slightly dry, mildly astringent finish. I spent $13 on this entirely mediocre bottle -- please do not make the same mistake.
