Cask Stillage at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham 19/03/2004 Dark coloured and very rich on the palate. Bitter lasting slightly chocolaty full roast finish.

Silk Tork and I agreed that, unlike some beers at the festival that were suffering from an identity crisis, this is called a stout and, indeed, is a stout. And a pretty decent one at that. Nice balance, good body and a dry finish. Not exceptional, but very pleasant. Cask, Pigs Ear, East London, December 2003.

Gravity fresh @ Pig's Ear Festival, East London. A good stouty stout. Has all that you want from a good quality stout, but doesn't exceed expectations or sing from the rooftops. Simply a damn fine drink. [3.4]
Same again a few hours later: Roasty aroma. Nice stouty flavour with a reasonably fullish body.

The beer of Loughborough Beer Festival (for me, anyway). This is dark with a capuccino coloured head. Flavours are a good balance between sweet and sour. Smokey and fruity, too. Coffee in the finish completes this decent stout.
