| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Bottle. High fluffy and long lasting white head. Clear golden body. Sweet barley malt flavor with straw and grassy notes. A bit sharp and yet pleasant hops bitterness dominates the flavor. Palate is a bit thin with low carbonation and a short aftertaste. fonefan (11817), VestJylland, Denmark

Reasonably well carbonated. Looks average once the head disappears. Aroma of corn and hops that doesn’t add anything to the experience.Good body and texture. Bitter taste with a thin aftertaste and no distinctive flavours that jump out. Brings back memories of youth. floydian1 (287), FNQ, Australia
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Draught at the brewery tap in Brisbane. After a tour of the brewery, never has so much technology been used to produce such a bland lager! It pours light yellow with a small white head. Aroma and flavour is syrupy sweet malt with nothing else. Remarkably characterless with no finish at all. Interesting fact - after fermentation, the excess yeast is sold to Kraft to help make Vegemite!

This poured golden body with no head. Very weak nose, sugary malty with some corn. Boring corny flavor...watery, slightly sweet to sourish, but don’t exactly know how to describe this boredom. Should I talk about the finish? OK, some cardboard added to all of that. Just hope Australian version is better. This is drinkable only it reminds water...a bit spoiled though. | 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Castlemaine XXXX Export Lager, brewed by Carlsberg Italia at their Induno Olona plant, purchased at the Interspar in the City Center West in Graz. Golden body, almost no head. Extremely weak nose, maybe some alcohol/malt, a bit sharp (if one can call something so elusive "sharp"). The taste echoes the nose, surprise surprise. Some pollen and weak maltiness, corn maybe, dryish overall. Extremely weak cardboard. Impressively useless. I’m pretty sure I’d rather have water. espenra (294), Oslo, Norway
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 16, 2009 33cl bottle. Sold as Castlemaine XXXX Export. I have been wanting to try this beer ever since I heard the joke "Why do the australians call their beer XXXX? Because they can’t spell beer". It poured a pale golden colour with a medium big white foamy head that settled down fast in the glass. The aroma is malty with notes of dirt. The flavour is thin slightly bitter with notes of malts and grass. It has a short aftertaste.
Overall it’s a nice thirst quencher in the heart, but that’s about it also.
