| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Dec 28, 2007 Bottle, 330ml. A straw colour with an average head. Aroma is pretty much non-existent... maybe some citrus there. Taste has an almost undetectable hint of grain and grassy hop. High carbonation. Pretty much tasteless, but at least it’s not unpleasant. Castlemaine reminds me of my first night in Dublin. Not a great beer and it kinda tastes like metal but I love the fact that over in Europe they put almost all beers in 500ml cans , we should start to do that over here. yngwie (4970), Kristiansand, Norway
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Bottle at Berliner Bierfestival. Clear, pale golden pour, with a white head. Weak nose, mostly grain and hay, but there’s something alcohol-like there as well. Weak flavor as well, with fruits and some hops, leading to a finish with some hops and bitterness. Thin to medium body. Boring and quaffable. (070804) Allen (1366), Switzerland

Biscuitty malty aroma. Fairly tart, oily. Not a bad nose at all. Slightly metallic though. Oily, malty taste. Biscuity. This beer isn’t as good as the original Castlemaine XXXX. Nutty mouthfeel. Not great, but it’s definetely not a bad lager. Watery and nutty. Dry malty finish. downender (2587), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

Watery mouth-feel with taste of skunky hops and depressing metallic aftertaste. Never again.... beerandrugby (210), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
