Dec 28, 2007 Bottle, 330ml. A straw colour with an average head. Aroma is pretty much non-existent... maybe some citrus there. Taste has an almost undetectable hint of grain and grassy hop. High carbonation. Pretty much tasteless, but at least it’s not unpleasant.

Nov 23, 2007 Updated: Feb 14, 2008Ah Castlemaine good times!. Castlemaine reminds me of my first night in Dublin. Not a great beer and it kinda tastes like metal but I love the fact that over in Europe they put almost all beers in 500ml cans , we should start to do that over here.

Sep 25, 2007 Bottle at Berliner Bierfestival. Clear, pale golden pour, with a white head. Weak nose, mostly grain and hay, but there’s something alcohol-like there as well. Weak flavor as well, with fruits and some hops, leading to a finish with some hops and bitterness. Thin to medium body. Boring and quaffable. (070804)

Jun 4, 2007 Updated: Nov 7, 2007Canned 440ml. It pours a golden beer with a lasting white head. Biscuitty malty aroma. Fairly tart, oily. Not a bad nose at all. Slightly metallic though. Oily, malty taste. Biscuity. This beer isn’t as good as the original Castlemaine XXXX. Nutty mouthfeel. Not great, but it’s definetely not a bad lager. Watery and nutty. Dry malty finish.

Apr 29, 2007 Canned. Woeful British brewed lager. Pleasant enough to look at, but next to no aroma. Watery mouth-feel with taste of skunky hops and depressing metallic aftertaste. Never again....
