Fish (439), Kure, Japan Jan 7, 2006 This was a pretty tasty beer. Pours a pretty dark dark brown color. Very nice palate. Very smooth, but not watery. You get lots of chocolate and caramel in the malt department, all on the smokier end. Incidentally, this is the first Oak Aged beer I’ve seen brewed in NC. I think that’s pretty exciting. Also, got to meet the brewmaster, Scott, who was hanging around Barleys the other night. Really nice guy. Runs a good business. Good beer, man. Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jan 3, 2006 Black, with a sturdy brown head. Aroma is burnt toast and oak, plushints of chocolate and coffee. Very smooth palate. Big milk chocolate flavors, plus vanilla, too. Lots of roasty flavors, too. On draft at Barley’s, Asheville, NC.
