Deep red coloring with a nice white head and good lacing. Great hoppy flavor with some mellow malts thrown in there - reminiscent of orange. Smooth finish. Great beer! Probably my favorite CVBC offering that I've had. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

Pours a reddish amber with no head and a little lace. Nose is slightly hoppy, good malt balance--pleasent enough. This is very traditional amber with nicely balanced malts and hops. No flaws noted and alcohol well hidden. I tend to like Catawba Valleys hoppier beers better. tronraner (1937), Seymour, Tennessee, USA

The aroma is biscuit and bread with some raisin. The flavor has a nice American hop quality to it, backed by some toast and charcoal. The finish is slightly smoky. Generic, but tasty.
