One hell of a red ale. This is one of my favorites from Catawba Valley. Excellent taste, perfect head and just hits the spot.

On tap at the Bier Garden in Asheville. Holy crap, what a damn fine amber! Deep red coloring with a nice white head and good lacing. Great hoppy flavor with some mellow malts thrown in there - reminiscent of orange. Smooth finish. Great beer! Probably my favorite CVBC offering that I've had.

This is a good brew. I like this red amber colored brew. Taste was a bit fruity. Finish was very nice and this is a good overall brew.

On tap at Mellow Mushroom Asheville on 9/21/2007. Pours a reddish amber with no head and a little lace. Nose is slightly hoppy, good malt balance--pleasent enough. This is very traditional amber with nicely balanced malts and hops. No flaws noted and alcohol well hidden. I tend to like Catawba Valleys hoppier beers better.

Knoxville Brewers’ Jam 2006. Pours copper with a beige head. The aroma is biscuit and bread with some raisin. The flavor has a nice American hop quality to it, backed by some toast and charcoal. The finish is slightly smoky. Generic, but tasty.
