Growler courtesy of tpd. Pours a dark brown with an off white head. Nose is hints of wood, vanilla, rich malts, roastiness, and mild coconut. Flavor is a very rich roasty malt, some coffee, some wood, faint coconut, toffee, mild earthy hops, caramel. Damn fine porter.

Dark brown pour with a frothy tan head and drippy lace. Light roast aroma. Definite coconut flavor combined with light chocolate. Slightly metallic finish

Draught at Barleys, Asheville. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, a bit of cocoa, trace of coconut, some ash. Flavor is roasty and watery, wtih a slightly bitter and slightly coconut aftertaste. Pretty good, but a little too much bitterness for me.

A hazy brown pour with a light tan lace and almost no head. A vrye light hint of coconut on the nose wth a trace of coffee as well. A very light hint of abv all the way through. I just didn’t pick up on the coconut. A tad of bittter on the finsih w/a hint of sweetness. Platate is smooth carbonation is good byt htis baby is thin. Spare the coconut spoil the king coconut ale I’ll say.

Muddy brown, toasted cocoanut aroma, big toasted cocoanut flavor on top of a nice chocolate malt base, no bitterness but not too sweet, made with cocoanut toasted in the pizza oven

On tab at barley’s. The coconut is predominant in the nose and taste. Past that you get the smooth porter bitterness and roasted malt flavors. Very interesting but can’t drink more than one of these guys in a sitting.

draught. Pours really dark brown with a fast fading head. The aroma is rich of coconuts and toasted brown sugar and coffee. The coffee is in the foreground of the flavor. I expected a wash of chocolaty malts to balance the immediate bitterness, but instead was greeted with sweet coconuts. Weird. It’s almost chalky and just a tad thin for the style. But it’s certainly not bad. This would be good a warm spring day. It’s undoubtedly unique.

Draught at Barley’s in Asheville, NC. Dark brown with creamy, lasting, tan head that laced the glass. Light malty roasty chocolate nose. Distinctly chocolatey and nutty with hints of toasted bread. Reminded me a bit of Nutella, actually. Definite coconut flavor as well, especially at the end. Coconut is a great way to dress up a porter.
