Murky amber, smallish frothy white head. Somewhat tart caramel malt aroma, grassy and yeasty, funky and pungent. Taste is pretty straight-ahead BSA - yeast, alcohol and roasty caramel sweetness. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2009 bottle, traded with Kölschtriker or DerDoppelbock, I forgot to make a note of it. Thank you anyway. Hazy golden colour with an amber glow, large off-white head. Aroma of (very) sweaty feet and some sourness. Oh dear. This one smelled as if it had turned sour, but not!The beer itself was ok. Full-bodied, very malty with nice flavours of roasted malts, caramel and toffee with a shy touch of fruit. Lingering finish, where a hoppy touch tunes in. I think I’ve never had a beer with such a discrepany between aroma and flavour. I nearly poured it into the drain because of its awful nose. eManu (211), Brussels, Belgium
