Cave Creek Chili Beer

Crazy Ed’s version, from Total Wine in Richmond, VA. Pours pale yellow with no head. Aroma is straight jalapeno peppers. Taste is about three seconds of a boring grainy and thin pale lager followed with absolute heat. They had to put as much heat in here as possible to cover up the crappy beer.

Bottle containing a whole pepper pours a clear golden color with small head that quickly fades. Aroma is mostly chili pepper/hot sauce. Flavor is light, but really all you can taste is pepper. Not overly hot but a spicy aftertaste. Wasn’t expecting very much from this so at least I wasn’t overly disappointed. Very glad I only bought a single bottle. I’ve had other jalapeno beers in the past that were decent, but this one is pretty bad.

Pours light with little to no head, which then quickly disappears. Little spicy pepper scent, nothing much more. Tastes like a mild domestic beer with a spicy hot after taste, upsetting to the stomach. After opening the pepper inside reacts like ’Rice Crispy’s’ to milk. The pepper was crunchy but no flavor. Not good, even as a novelty beer.

This stuff is not for me. It is just plain heat. I can’t get much flavor out of it because it hides behind the heat. I used some to cook with though that I was unable to drink. An impromptu chili that was quite spicy and had some good flavor not sure if it was from the beer but it was fun.

Poured a fizzy off-white head which diminished to absoluetly nothing in about 2 seconds. Light yellow body with a very lifeless look. Was very surprised and a little turned off as the pepper within rose to the surface and hissed loudly for about 10 seconds as it expelled gasses. Aroma was that of skunk with a spicy touch of jalapeno pepper. Tasted quite skunky and spicy, reminiscent of a plate of nachos. Light and watery on the palate,seemed to shoot right to the back of my mouth and the spice hung around for several minutes after, reaching all the ay down my throat. A terrible beer. Not refreshing in the slightest. Try one for a gag, but don’t even dream of buying two.

Words cannot describe how bad this beer is. What is lowest score I can give this beer. I drank one sip and gave up. It took me several miniutes to bring myself to do that after smelling it

Smells like Sunday morning: aka left over salsa and beer. Tastes like salsa and crappy beer pretty much. Could be worse.
