The only positive thing I can say about the aroma is that is better than the taste. metallic, artificial, acidic, hot, absolutely terrible. soulgrowl (52), Kitakyushu-shi, Japan
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2008 First of all, if you don’t like the sensation of capsaicin sizzling on your tastebuds, then avoid this beer. It is quite spicy.
Aroma: Smells peppery.
Appearance: The beer looks fine, kind of a nondescript amber-yellow color, maybe a little darker than your average macro lager. The sight of the pepper, which is a drab, mottled olive hue, is a little off-putting, but then part of the fun of this beer is watching people’s facial expressions when they ask, "What the hell is that floating in there?"
Flavor: The pepper taste is overwhelming, which was fine by me, since I love peppers. However, I couldn’t taste the beer itself at all, which kind of bothered me, since I enjoy pairing spicy food with beer and I expected this beer to be kind of like that - with the beer and the pepper sharing the stage. I don’t know whether the beer was really bland or if the pepper was just too strong, but this was a little disappointing. But I still enjoyed it, and kept wishing I had some nachos to go with it. It would go so well with nachos, a nice, crisp, acidic brew with big bubbles to counter the heaviness of the cheese.
Palate: Hot! Besides that, noting too interesting. Pretty light and refreshing. Clean finish.
Overall: It really depends on your tolerance for heat. I guzzled mine pretty quickly, then ate the pepper, then wished I had more beer to put out the fire in my mouth. Quite an experience. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Intense pepper nose. Pale gold/straw, with no head whatsoever. Some slight corn sweetness, immediately followed by massive heat from the chili. Very over the top beer. For what it is, it really is not terrible, but must be served with food. | 0.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Apr 22, 2008 When I was 16, I was stuck in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean on a fishing boat just east of Grand Bahama Island. Afraid of the water, and green with sea sickness, I was tied to the back of the boat via a life raft with each wave sending churning, searing stomach acid through my intestines. While other snorkelers and barracudas swam gaily around me, I closed my eyes and clenched my rear and prayed for relief, that as soon as I was able to hoist myself back upon the boat to safety that I would let loose this leaky gut and everything would be OK. I made it back on to the boat, waddled to the back chamber and realized it was padlocked, with no key on board. In the distance, or perhaps in my mind, I heard the sinister laughing of Satan himself.
This beer is kind of like that. unclemike (833), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours yellow with absolutely no head. Aroma is mostly chili with a hint of beer behind it. Flavour is like the aroma... I think. At least that’s what I get out of it for that short time I’m capable of actually tasting anything before the chili kicks in and I have flames coming out of my mouth (never been too good at dealing chili). Interesting, but in a bad way jcweaver (65), VA Beach, Virginia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Tasted like a Macro with jalepeno juice added. It really wasn’t terrible or as bad as I have heard, but wasn’t great either. For what this novelty beer is, it was ok, not great, not horrible, just ok. I love Rogue’s chipolte ale so this doesn’t compare.
