It tastes spicy :) A tiny bit of malt as well. Not much else. Oh yeah, and it burned when I took a poop the next day too. georgekessel (68), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Medium carbonation, large bubbles, acidy spicy ’chili pepper’ taste. If you want to try it let me say this - BET YOU CAN’T DRINK MORE THEN 2 WITHOUT A TUMS CHASER... Cave Creek Chili Beer is a gimmick, the chili pepper overwhelms, so this beer is very one dimensional. Most beer lovers do not enjoy this one, and see it for what it is, a gimmick. I just happen to be in the minority that enjoys that gimmick, and really enjoy this beer. The appeal of this beer is limited, but it is a beer I feel that is worth trying.
Cave Creek Chili Beer pours to a bright golden color with with a white head that quickly fades, and a vibrant carbonation. If you pour right, the chili pepper will follow the beer into the glass and will float to the top. The nose on this beer is spicy with the aroma of chili pepper. The body is light, and again, dominated by the hot and spicy flavors of pickled chili pepper. Cave Creek finishes with a warming and spicy burn as it goes down, and that spicy chili pepper burn lingers.
Clearly this beer is brewed for a limited audience. Chili pepper dominates, but the heat of the chili in this beer, really is not so spicy, that you could not enjoy a bottle or two, or three. I like eating the chili pepper after I finish the beer, and enjoy the heat and the burn. rudolf (1774), Buffalo, New York, USA

There is a brief moment when it first hits your tongue where you kind fo tasted beer but then it all goes away in a horrible rush of pepper. This reminds me of stuff my parents used to put on my thumb in an effort to make me stop sucking it. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA

Flavor of jalapeno and malt. Very interesting aftertaste, infact it’s the thing that made the beer worth it. I knew what I was buying when I got it, so that explains the rating. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
