I have heard some incredibly terrible things about this beer so when I saw it I had to buy one. What can I say? I’m a glutton for punishment.Pours pale yellow with a thin head that is gone in an instant. It smells a lot like a bag of Jalapeño potato chips. Mostly peppers and salt. The taste is very grainy with a spicy pepper overtone and a bit of saltiness. Pretty bad but not nearly as bad as I feared.

12 oz bottle from Binnys singles rack (Orland Park, IL). Intimidating and finally trying it. Pours a well carbonated driven pour, golden with slight haze, head becomes absolutely zero, well carbonated. Aromas are very vegetal, peppery, a bit of heat, skunky grainy qualities on the backend. Initial is pulls out some skunky grain and a heat that grows with each sip. A warming peppery oil coating with some vegetal qualities that start to cover up the skunky malts. Heat travels down the throat, not an overbearing spiciness, but more like a growing heat that mimics heartburn in the throat. Mediocre, but actually has flavors (albeit not the most enjoyable ones). Finish is heat. Would like to see what this does as a cooking beer.

Bad ratings but this beer is exactly what it says it is. Incomparable. The aroma was of pepper which I love and its appearance was of light wheat. Little or no head which is most likely subdued with the pepper oils. The flavor varied from mild pepper to kick your tastebuds hot just like peppers can be. I absolutely loved this beer style. It may not be in the mainstream but is certainly is a treat. I drank 3 and then switched to other beer. Enjoyed the variety of depth of heat and pepper of each one. Also, use this as a meat marinade and in beef chili dishes. If you appreciate it for what it is....a craft chile beer...then it truly fits its style.

It looks cool with the chili pepper in it, but that’s about it. Has a pale gold color. Smells of cheap beer and Tabasco Sauce. Taste is pretty much the same. There’s no way you can drink a whole 6 pack in one night of this or else you’re going to have some serious heart burn or diarrhea. I am glad I got a chance to try this though because, come on, am I honestly going to get a chance to see this again?

I waited a real long time to find a trader who could get me this and finally canIhave4beers got it for me, big gigantic thanks. No head and of course thereis this pepper thing in there. First I thought it would not come out of the bottle but when I poured it, out it came right into my glass, cool. Smell is like jalepeno potato chips. Nice visible carbonation, sparkles continuously especially off the pepper. Not much beer taste but plenty of heat. I had some church brew stout that tasted like this stuff once. I think it was mexicam mole’. Pepper influence is quite hi and overwehlming on the taste buds. Contrary to many comments here, the taste is not really too bad. However, I don’t think I could drink two of these in a session. I’m a little worried about how it will come out at the other end. Heat impact covers all areas of the mouth and down the throat. Not excessively hot, like habenaros, but certainly reaches the heat of jalepenos. Decent amount of carbonation on the palate. Fun expereince. Reminds me of the jalepenos i get with nachos. I do detect the background flavors of pickling juice used in pickling peppers. I think they actually get the pepper out of jar of pickled peppers, no fresh pepper is added. Finish is hot and spicey. Overall experience is not bad! For some reason, I was expecting something terribly worse. Can’t wait to eat the pepper.

My friends and I have one rule to our tastings—no matter the taste, everyone finishes their sample of each beer. We have broken that rule only once, for this beer. Straw yellow with zero head and obviously no lacing. Smells like spicy pepper and stale urine. Taste is crappy beer with strong pepper aftertaste. Very much not good. If you like spicy pepper this might not be a total loss—but it probably is. Terrible.

Very pale, no head whatsoever, but there’s a chili floating in the bottle - the high point of this beer. Very strong chili aroma, no hops detected. Tastes awful, not spicy just hot. Purely a novelty.

Bottle @ Italy. Pale golden with a off white head. Nose and taste is pretty much vegetable and grain. Warm hot chili notes in the end. Very watery. Filth.
