Sampled form a 12 oz clear bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with only a trace of a white head and lots of floating junk. The aroma is sweet hot pepper. The flavor is sweet hot pepper followed by tangy citrus and finished of with what can only be described as hot pepper juice. It is not really very beer like in flavor. The pepper lingers on the palate. Not good by any means but much tastier than I expected. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

The good wife and my mother-in-law ask if I could use a beer. The wife adds, grab him one from the "beer Fridge". Well, I walk in the wife says she just pouring it, what glass? I ask her the color, she said yellow, so I told her The otter creek glass. When I saw this beast coming at me, I started to cry. I went and grab a Founders Impy stout to wash this away with. Here goes. Poured yellow with a fizzy head. Nose was corn and bud like with some hints of chile. The taste was foul! Weak lager with a overwhelming burn from the pepper. Everyone had a good luagh on my account. Yuck! mtdshn (174), Moline, Illinois, USA

I was only able to taste about a teaspoon and couldn’t finish after that. This is basically a jalapeno tea and I do not recommend it to anyone. It has it’s drinkers but I’m not one of them. johninmelb (695), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Nov 30, 2005 Smells like a chili. Looks rubbish. Tastes like a pretty crap lager with a chili in it. Palate lingers at the back of the throat like a chili. Rating this one absolutely stonkered me. As a beer, it’s pretty crap - the actual beer that the chili is in is very poor indeed. As a drinking experience, it’s different, entertaining, and a bit quirky and challenging. As a spicy experience, it’s pretty good - the chili has a good ol’ bite, and a good, smooth, solid afterburn, albeit not fiery like a scotch bonnet or habenero or something. So here’s how I’ve rated it. The aroma is based on rating any beer that has an unusual nose, like a kriek or a honey beer or something. In terms of the pleasure of sniffing the beer, this aint good. The appearance rating is based on any beer. The flavour is based on the pleasantness of this as a beer, not as a spicy experience. The palate is based on the lingering quality of this as a beer again, which doesn’t exist due to the overwhelming lasting chili burn, which is actually mild, steady and pleasant, but not from the beer. So, for overall, I’ve just sat on the fence because I like chili, I like heat, I like beer, I like them together in a meal, I don’t think I like them together in a bottle, and, basically, I don’t know what the heck to do with this thing! joergen (8627), Frederiksberg, Denmark
