Smells like a chili. Looks rubbish. Tastes like a pretty crap lager with a chili in it. Palate lingers at the back of the throat like a chili. Rating this one absolutely stonkered me. As a beer, it’s pretty crap - the actual beer that the chili is in is very poor indeed. As a drinking experience, it’s different, entertaining, and a bit quirky and challenging. As a spicy experience, it’s pretty good - the chili has a good ol’ bite, and a good, smooth, solid afterburn, albeit not fiery like a scotch bonnet or habenero or something. So here’s how I’ve rated it. The aroma is based on rating any beer that has an unusual nose, like a kriek or a honey beer or something. In terms of the pleasure of sniffing the beer, this aint good. The appearance rating is based on any beer. The flavour is based on the pleasantness of this as a beer, not as a spicy experience. The palate is based on the lingering quality of this as a beer again, which doesn’t exist due to the overwhelming lasting chili burn, which is actually mild, steady and pleasant, but not from the beer. So, for overall, I’ve just sat on the fence because I like chili, I like heat, I like beer, I like them together in a meal, I don’t think I like them together in a bottle, and, basically, I don’t know what the heck to do with this thing!

Bottled. Clear yellow coloured with a small fast disappearing head. Weird aroma of pickled vegetables and chili pepper. Burning flavour of chili peppers with notes of pickled vegetables and acetic acid. Undrinkable.

WTF! I drink beer to enjoy myself and maybe even quench my thirst. This so called beer did neither for me. After merely sipping I wanted to drink more....but not of this yellow liquid. I needed water and then I needed to uncork a real beer. I like 3rd degree burns in spicy food, but its just too much of a paradox for me to get it this way. Thumbs down and point to the drain.

Pours clear pissy golden with no head at all. Aroma of peppers and some grain. UGH! flat-out offensive. The first sip just burned the hell out of my tongue and lips. Straight chili pepper acidic acid and grain. Harsh, harsh mouthfeel. Interesting but this was undoubtedly the worst beer experience of my life.

This "beer" still haunts me. I don’t think that it is meant to exist. I choked one down for a bet, and it was the worst thing that happened to me. It may be the worst idea ever. Spicy beer? What the hell were they thinking?
