Flavor was mildly interesting. At the very beginning, you get some small amount of pear-fruity light malts. It is almost immediately obliterated by hot peppers. Way overboard. I will drink just about any beer, good stuff, hoppy stuff, insane sweet stuff, hell usually even mildly infected stuff. But this one I had to chase the three swallows I had with a Founders Breakfast. After three swallows, I gave up and dumped. punkeedo (483), San Antonio, Texas, USA

| 0.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Bottled Oh shit! I love hot food, I love the buzz of fresh chilis, the hotter the better, but this is mental. The chili in the bottle is a large enough one to make you think it’s not gonna be too hot but hot it is! The appearance is the only good thing. A resonable orange gold colour and a bonus point for the way that bubbles stick to the chili like cuckoo spit when opening the bottle. The aroma is sweet mashed chili. It is not inviting in any way but is actually quite disgusting. The taste is liquid heat. I’ve had vindaloos that are milder. It just grabs the back of your throat and strangles your tonsils. I had three sips before pouring it out. My wife had half a sip and went straight for some bread to cool her mouth. Just awful. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA

Okay, I’ve been know to drop a lime into my Dos XX, but a jalapeno? I remember the first (and last) time I had this beer. A friend poured me a cup and handed it to me. Thinking it was not a cruel joke, I drank it. Beer should not burn. nhartline1 (2), Hixson, Tennessee, USA does not count | 0.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Jun 28, 2005 As a new member of ratebeer, I’m optimistic that my further reviews can only get better. I enjoy spicy food and even spicy cocktails, but this is a beer that only belongs in fraternity hazing. I managed to take a medium sized sip before pouring the rest down the drain. I didn’t find the spicy quality of the beer to be overbearing. But instead it was the horrible vinegar/chili flavor that sealed the deal. Ughsmash (4095), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA

Poured a yellow/golden color not unlike urine after loading up on Vitamin B. There was no head, and very little carbonation. Aroma was entirely of hot peppers. This tasted like they squeezed 2 lb. of Jalapeños into a bottle of flat pee. The one mouthful of this stuff I managed to swallow burned a trail right down the esophagus and resulted in immediate heartburn. The only benefit Cave Creek could possibly have for society is to introduce the beer to middle school students before they have the opportunity to discover alcohol on their own. That would likely push back any desire to drink until they hit college. kms399 (267), plymouth, Minnesota, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 18, 2005 Poured a bright golden color... wait... there’s a pale green pepper in the bottle. Anyway the head was fizzy and faded quickly to nothing. The nose started with roasted caramel malt intertwined with roasted chilli skins. The taste started with a sweet malty flavor up front and a briney, jalapeno like flavor following. Peppery heat soon followed and grew in intencity as I continued to drink. the feel was light and very effervescent. Not exactally what i would call a "thirst quencher". After seeing the obismal ratings and reviews on this beer I was very hessitant to give it a try. But a buddy of mine bought some while in Arizona, so I coulsn’t resist. And I must say, it wasn’t that bad. I really love hot and spicey foods and have a good tollerance for most types of peppers, so this didn’t bug me too much. It’s a novelty beer. A very spicey novelty beer. It’s not something i’ll be reaching for again any time soon.
