Well, here I am. #500. I had been planning for a while to make this one my 500th, and thanks to the kindly Iranians who run the Six Pack Shop down in Fountain Hill, with its excellent selection and decent prices, it has been accomplished. It’s the same piss-yellow as the average macro lager, with the same bubbly head. It actually smells like a decent jalapeño-based hot sauce. It tastes, well, baffling. I ate a couple Goya microwave tamales drenched in Valentina hot sauce last night, accompanied by a Molson; the overall effect is quite like a liquid version of that meal. I’m not entirely sure whether this is good or bad. The heat is indeed nice; but the beer itself is watery, and there is some conflict between the jalapeño flavor and the fruity/floral characteristics of cheapo lager. It baffles me. Baffle baffle baffle. The heat does stick with you for a while, especially on the lips and tongue. The floating pepper itself is disappointingly flavorless, and kind of waxy. I have vague unsettling memories of the bottle of Hungarian paprika vodka that I tried once, which also had a floating pepper. Not something I’d drink often, by any means. Honestly it isn’t all that horrible, though, and the concept is interesting. On further reflection, I conclude that this might have gotten higher ratings overall if packaged in smaller bottles; the full twelve ounce bottle gets kind of distastefully tedious.

Gold color with no head at all. Pissy aroma ... No flavor! I thought I was drinking tabasco sauce out of the bottle! this shit is hot! and the heat stays in your mouth way to long. I would only get this for someone as a joke.

Chilli and crap lager aroma. Gold with no head. Crap lager taste followed by pureed jalapeno juice. Thin. Horrible. Why?/ WHY??!

YUCK .....From reading these reviews i thought this was going to be real hot and spicy but its not. I guess its not cuz when i eat mexican food, i drink hot sauce from the little containers while eating my food. I did prepare by grabbing a 32 oz of Tecate just in case i needed a chaser and it certainly helped. Aroma is only of alcohol and there was no head at all. Flavor tasted like a beer that has sat out over night and someone added a jalapeno to it. I experiemented by adding some lime to this but it still remained nasty and didn’t work. Only way this is drinkable is with some tacos. I feel a headache coming on and want to vomit. Resist the urge and avoid buying. So sorry i had to cure my curiosity with buying this. I’m gonna give the other 5 bottles out or throw them away and im not kidding, ill do it.

What a bad idea. All gimick here. Must be just beer with chili juice added. Not fermented chilis or anything like that. Very hard to finish. Very hard. Burned going down. And this is comming from someone who likes spicy foods. Couldn’t get rid of the burning. So painful the next day that I wanted to cry. Dont waste your money. or give a bottle to an enemy. I guess it did have aninteresting smell that didnt hurt me so theres it can ahave a few points.

The colour is light, but it’s funny with the chili in it. Aroma of weak gulasch soup. Flavour of paprika and chili. Strong and burning aftertaste (at least for us who never eat exotic food with chili). It was cool that Madsberg ate the chili after we had drunken the beer.

Bottle. I shared this with kook and we still couldn’t finish it. Unbelievably bad in most categories, looks like Budweiser or something, but with absolutely no head formation. Tastes like stale beer, with a nasty stale chilly flavour. Its hot-ish, but just really bland. 2 bonus points for being one of the hardest beers i’ve ever had to drink. Ed really is a crazy guy.
