Bottle. Smells of straw and vinegar. Head is small, fizzy, white with no lacing and quickly and fully diminishing. Color is sparkling clear pale yellow. Flavor starts lightly acidic and finishes the same. Palate is light, watery and has a fizzy carbonation. It finishes spicy hot. A plain Pale Lager, but unique because of some chili heat and the end. This wouldn’t be too bad with some nachos.

Wow! Budweiser and tobasco, not my idea of a good time. I really ejoy hot foods, but this beer is just not me. Unless you enjoy a burning sensation while drinking bad beer, stay away.

Sampled this on April Fools day (we’re not amused!). Colour... what colour? Nose... chili, though I couldn’t tell you which variety. Palate... lightly carbonated water with chili added to it. Was this really created at a brewery? Or was it drained from the gall bladder of a chupacabra?

Pours clear bright golden, fizzy, hardly any head. Love how the chili looks, but the beer itself isn’t pretty because of the eerily bright clear bubbly gold. The aroma is not bad, basically smells like chili soaking in some brine or vinegar. A little shocking and one-dimensional but not bad. The palate is enhanced by the heat, which I must admit I am a sucker for and my tongue does like that. The underlying beer is the weakest part of this brew. Thankfully the chili covers it up. There are some horrid macro-swill flavors lingering on the back of the palate if I really pay attention, and there is little good grain character. If this were boosted by a better beer it would actually be good. "I like the chili. Too bad about the beer." The main flavors flow direct from the admittedly generic green chili. Leaves a nice tingle on the tongue. It’s really too bad about the beer because I do like the heat and can imagine pairing with food. Speaking of ingestion, I did eat the chili whole, it’s bad. The texture is what kills it, it’s akin to eating a handful of thick grass. Very stringy. And the chili is itself flavorless. All in all this beer is something you’ve just gotta try. It’s actually not bad for a swill and is entertaining if nothing else.

Bottled(330ml). -Finally managed to find this beer. I’m big chili fan, so let’s see what we’ve got here. Clear bottle with whole chili in it. Golden coloured, white head that went away in two seconds, chili vinous nose. The taste is almost similar to spicy water from the chili jar. Interesting in one way but in other hand quite failure. Burning finish and long lasting aftertaste. Austrian chili beers are much better. Pitty.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who found it in Wien (thanks!). My bottle says it’s made in Tecate, Mexico (by Cerveceria Mexicana obviously). Poured a pale yellow body with no head. Oh and the fat green chili ended up in my glass. Impressive? hah no. Nose? Chili and potatoes. Hm. Taste... weak veggies with chili standing out. Heavy bite. The veggies actually save it from being a bigger failure than it should be overall as a beverage but not as a beer. Austrian brewpub chili beers are miles ahead of this shit. Ah, well. It’s not my first 0.5 like I thought it’d be.
