I rated this "chili" beer tops in every category because of the simple fact it IS a CHILI BEER. DO I expect a cold Canadien lager? NO. Do I expect a creamy Belgian Ale? NO. I expect a spicy chili-flavored beer and that is exactly what I got. I am a man who loves spicy foods - the hotter the better. Jalapeno’s?? I laugh at them. My wife and I use Habanero sauces like most folks use ketchup....so I found this delight once again since I moved to So. Florida last year at FLAME LIQUORS in West Palm Beach. To describe this wonderful war between sweet hops and spicy pepper does no justice to the beer. It leaves a subtle burn on your lips and tongue and throat. If you like HEAT of any kind with your food - TRY THIS....if you don’t, do us all a favor and do not try it only to belittle this great beer. ENJOY not only one but many!

Unique and intense, hard to find but easy to enjoy, a remarkable creation. The clear bottle and the ubiquitous chili in the bottle promise a spicy flavorful brew with a lingering warmth and aftertaste that allows one of these to penetrate your being and satisfy your cravings. The consistency of the flavor of this beer is remarkable and the joy of being able to find it locally make for a beer drinking adventure. While Cave Creek spoofs its own beer on its T-shirts, it is one of my absolute favorites and also a great visit at the brewery in Cave Creek, AZ.

I don’t know why all you guys are badmouthing cave creek. Sure, it’s not exactly what you want to drink on a hot day after doing yard work, but it’s a great-tasting beer if you like hot stuff. It’s like drinking Corona with a kick, only there’s no f***ing limes in it!! Seriously, try this beer if you get a chance. It can grow on you.

YOWZA! I can’t believe all of the bad reviews that this "beer" is getting. It’s like nothing else I’ve ever had. It’s incomparable. The aroma was spicy and it looked like a pale champagne without a head. The unexpected kick of flavor was delayed a few seconds after I had finished a sip. The aftertaste is EXPLOSIVE! You have to try this at least once. It made me want to go to a Mexican restaurant.

FOLKS -- YOU CAN’T COMPARE THIS TO "REGULAR" BEER! IF YOU’RE ONE OF THE IDIOTS WHO PANNED THIS BECAUSE "IT DOESN’T TASTE LIKE BEER," SHUT UP! TAKE YOUR CAN OF BUD LIGHT & GO HOME. WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE LEARN TO COMPARE BEERS WITHIN A STYLE INSTEAD OF STYLE vs. STYLE? IF YOU DON’T LIKE A PARTICULAR STYLE, DON’T REVIEW IT. Pours bright yellow-gold. Nice head but short retention and only moderate lace. Smells like jalepenos and grain. The chile dominates -- it’s like jalepeno juice with the texture and feel of beer. Rather than flavored beer, the flavors fuse and meld into a unique beverage and that makes it interesting.. If you’re dead-set on BEER, then skip this. If you’re adventurous and like different taste experience then, by all means, try this one. I found the alcohol buzz combined with the endorphine rush from the hot chile made me feel quite nice.

Bad ratings but this beer is exactly what it says it is. Incomparable. The aroma was of pepper which I love and its appearance was of light wheat. Little or no head which is most likely subdued with the pepper oils. The flavor varied from mild pepper to kick your tastebuds hot just like peppers can be. I absolutely loved this beer style. It may not be in the mainstream but is certainly is a treat. I drank 3 and then switched to other beer. Enjoyed the variety of depth of heat and pepper of each one. Also, use this as a meat marinade and in beef chili dishes. If you appreciate it for what it is....a craft chile beer...then it truly fits its style.

People are passionate one way or another about this beer. Being someone who likes roasted, hot peppers, what can I say, but "WOW!" ... being someone who likes beer what can I say but "NICE JOB!" ... being someone fortunate enough to like both beer and peppers just makes it that much better but should also not detract from how nicely done this beer is. It is a great beer -- in that you really get the full effect of the vegetable being used to produce it, in this case a hot chili pepper. I’ve eaten lots of peppers in my day and drinking this beer was like having a liquid pepper ... I could taste almost every part of it -- waxy, roasted skin, a deep, fleshy taste, the seeds, and, of course, that magical taste-bud destroyer that prevents most people from ever enjoying the rich complexity that is chili, capsacum. Clear, bright golden. No head to speak of in my glass. Aroma of peppers. Taste of peppers. It has been described as a one-dimensional (true) and gimmicky (untrue): it is designed specifically, in any estimation, to showcase one thing: chili peppers. And, yes, it will destroy your tastebuds. Drink enough of these and you’ll be half blind, experiencing rare olfactory halucinations you never thought you would taste through your cotton-filled ears. It is a hard thing to showcase a vegetable without the beer becoming "vegetive"... this fits the bill, perfectly. Give it a chance based on what it is and you’ll agree: it showcases chili (and that’s something you either like or hate -- but the beer itself does exactly that beautifully).
