Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is mildly spiced, and the flavour is roasted, burnt, bitter and nutmeg/cinnamon et al like spiced. Overall a very average Belgian beer.

Bottle. Orange gold with an off-white head. Aromas are soft citrus and pear with spices and vanilla. Yeasty with some background caramel. Flavours are sweet malts with citrus, yeast and biscuit. brown sugar with grain and some homebrew notes. OK.

33cl bottle at home: Hazy orange-gold with a massive bubbly and fading yellowed head. Big fresh green apples and soft pears with pale malts. Touch of tartness helps to cut back on a bit of the overall sweetness. Citrus peel and yeast notes also help break up some of the sugar. Lightly spicy yeast with some floral and almost (but not quite) banana tendencies. Flavor is also sweet but less sugary than the aroma. Spice is played up more and blends into a somewhat bitter green or vegetal. Slick up front but thins out and dries out as it rolls backwards down your tongue. CO2 is quite punchy and tends to drive in that vegetal (which wants to be hops, but is more like dried green leaves). Also the citrus notes go from zest in the aroma to bitter white pith in the flavor. It means well, but hasn’t quite figured things out yet.

33 cL bottle. Pours a cloudy light golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, sweet fruits (apple, pear, melon), corn malt, and a touch of skunk. Flavor is spices upfront, with a sweet, fruity, malty finish. Light and crisp, quite pleasant. Very nice! 8/4/8/4/15 (3.9/5)

Bottle, 33cl, "Tournay" in orange lettering on black, "Traditional Belgian Beer." Aroma big on the pepper and clove with a great deal of lemon zest and other citrusy character, and strong biscuit malt, floral hops. Flavor much the same with a slightly resinous (more pollen-like) character, and again particularly lemony and zesty. Superbly crisp and refreshing. Great stuff.

(33cl bottle)Hazy, golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Moderately sweet malty aroma with a distinctive fruit-character of apricot, citrus and peach. Light-sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with an almost soft, slightly crispy carbonation. Pale malty and again distinctively fruity taste with a relatively dry mouthfeel. Dry-ish delicately malty and fruity finish with a tinge of hops. Good (02.V.09).

330ml Bottle: Aroma of yeast, biscuit, spices, light-colored fruits, white grapes, and some malts. Poured gold/amber in color with a large, foamy, creamy, off-white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small, medium, and large-sized particles throughout. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of yeast, biscuit, grass, hops, and some sugar. Medium body. Creamy, then chalky texture. Average to lively carbonation. Lightly sweet, yeasty finish is dry.

Bottle: Poured a deep hazy blond color ale with large foamy head with great retention and perfect lacing. Aroma of Belgian malt with some floral hops and a lightly sweet finish. Taste is also dominated by lightly sweet malt with some dry floral hops and a yeasty and bread-like finish. Body is quite full with great carbonation and no alcohol is apparent. I thought this was a nice example for the style but a yeast is a bit too dominating.
