Commercial Description:
Tournay Noire is a beer, refermented in the bottle, with an alcohol content of 7,6%. It contains only natural ingredients: water, four malts, two hops, yeast and sugar. We select special malts and very traditional hops to give it a powerful, long flavour in the mouth and a quite a strong hint of bitterness. This is a beer that will really appeal to Stout lovers!!

Average size creamy dark brown head. Dark brown/black body. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, plum, prunes and coffee. Full creamy body and a soft carbonation. The flavor is moderate/heavy sweet and light bitter.

Bottle via the Sloth in trade. Labeled as Tournay Black. These beer tasting notes made it thru the wash! Full pour yeilds a slate black body with a dense white head. Fizzy but settles down. Some brownish trub on bottom of my new favorite glass from Gahan. Some ruby tones on edges of glass let just a skoash of light thru. Nose has a base of plums and dark malts with a whisp or two of coffee.......The old coffee ingredient overindulgence fear arises yet again. Thankfully this is dashed to the rocks by the hearty body of choco-patent-toffee. Body is shortlived but has an extended finish of decreasing dryness. Hops are subdued but endure into finish. Props Bert!

Bottle. Black with a big beige foam. Aromas are peaty and smoky with coffee, berries and yeast. Some hints of lactose. Flavours are dark chocolate with coffee. Liquorice with earthy notes and berries with floral notes on the finish. Peppery on the aftertaste. Good.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Really impressed with these beers. The noel was good and so is this. A bit charcoal stouty. Black body iwth thick tan head. Really drinkable. Smooth in mouth. Good bitterness on finish. Excellent stout and there was me thinking that the Belgians couldn’t make stouts. Good stuff this.

Bottle. Dark brown almost black body with a dense big tan head. Caramel, yeast, fruit, light roasted malt in aroma. Light roasty yet powerfull flavour with burned caramel, ripe fruit, raisin, belgian yeast, bitter spicy hops and some chocolate. Bit confusing tasting palate. Full bodied.

Brewed in Belgium........ Pours a very dark brown color with a thin off white head. Aroma of dark malts, bitter chocolate and fruit. The taste is malty with some chocolate notes, brown sugar, dry fruit and spices. The mouthfeel is zesty at first, but then becomes kind of dry at the finish. Overall, I would say this is a very interesting stout but not the kind that you are used too.
