Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small frothy off white head that leaves decent spotty lacing. The aroma is a bready malt with caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a light roast malt with caramel, raisin and brown sugar. Easy to drink a good belgian ale from Celis.

12oz bottle: Clear amber body with a finger-thick white head. The aroma offers an interesting mix of banana, bubble gum, toffee and soft roast. The body follows suit, adding layers of vanilla, raisins and apple esthers. The body is complex, yet lagerish and drinkable. A very nice example of the style.

Bottle from sister. Looked interesting - all gingery and frothy, but taste was a bit of a let down. Inoffensive, but lacking oomph. Not a Bock, but then again it does say amber ale, somewhere on the label anyway.

Bottle, 25 cl. Re-tasted yersterday evening. Clear amber color, dark white head. Aroma malts, sweet. Thin to medium body. Taste sweet, malts, bit fruity. Nothing special, like more the celis white.

Bottled. Rather sweet, full flavour. Enormous carbonation. Sweet and sour. OK, but not outstanding.

Hazy copper color. Aroma of sugars, maybe some caramel too. Quite dry mouthfeel, some caramel flavor, old, expired. Not interesting.

I would never guess this was a Belgian ale in a blind taste test. Aroma of malt and honey. Pour was a light brown with no head whatsoever. Taste was of honey, orange and nuts. A wet aftertaste with some bitterness in the end but very thin and diluted.

A hazy dark murky amber with a thin white head. A rather oxidized malt with strong honey. In mouth, a sweet malt with honey, light yeast, and orange peels. Medium bodied. Bieropholie Import. BB 28/10/06
