Jun 30, 2005 What a mess. RateBeer says ’Ertvelds Wit’. The label says ’Gensch Mannekes Pies’. And if you peel it off, there’s another label underneath which says ’Celis White’. Ahm... 25 cl bottle, bottled/bbe? Very pale, straw coloured, little sparkle, weak head leaving fine lace. Spiced aroma, citrus peel, but also some a bit weird spiciness which is also present in de Witte Lambiek of Timmermans; there’s malt in the nose, too. Lemony and sourish flavour with a gentle hop finish. Thin palate.

Jun 17, 2005 Too bad Celis left Texas... Pours a rich, cloudy gold. Hints of orange and lemon in the nose, and the taste is an extension, with a smidgen of malt thrown in. Mouthfeel is lush, and seems to coat the mouth. A very enjoyable beer.

Jun 3, 2005 Updated: Feb 27, 2006(Bottle 25 cl) Paleish yellow, with a very white, rather small head. Nice citrusy touches and a soft tartness. But nice and rounded with lots of flavours. Almost no body and no bitternes either. But quenching indeed. 181096

May 1, 2005 Bottled as Celis White. Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Aroma of wheat and sweet malt. A bit sour, wheaty and malty flavour. Not much aftertaste. Oily palate.

Mar 5, 2005 (Draught@Vltava, Helsinki, labeled Celis White) Opaque yellow-straw color with a small, lacy head. Very lemony, quite spicy, somewhat sweet aroma. Nicely peppery-spicy, fruity-lemony acidic flavor. Light-bodied, very refreshing but slightly thin, quite carbonated and crisp palate. A decent, refreshing witbier.

Feb 6, 2005 it is ia nice rough beer to drink. It tempts although it resists. Pretty taste afterwarts, sometimes bitter while drinking. A bit sweet.

Jan 25, 2005 Bottled. A hazy light green/gold coloured beer with minimal head. The aroma is quite sour wheaty, lemony and medicinal. The taste is also on the sour side with rather thin lemony notes. An average wit needing that creamy full texture that others enjoy.
