Commercial Description:
Unfiltered in bottle and keg.
Pierre Celis created the original Hoegaarden beer in the early 1960’s. Interbrew-Labatt bought the brand and the brewery in the 1980's. Pierre Celis formed a new brewery in Austin Texas, brewing the same beer but under the brand name Celis White. Miller bought the Celis brewery and the Celis White brand-name in 1996. The brewery closed in 2000. In late 2002 Michigan Brewing bought the Celis White brand from Miller. Brouwerij Van Steenberge is now brewing the original Pierre Celis White under the brand-name Celis White in Europe and Ertveld's Wit in North America.

Bottled Clear pale golden, rich head. Fresh, orangey nose. Light bodied and medium sweet. Fairly simple, but very refreshing. A very good wit!

Just had this at the Copenhagen Beer Marathon. Light hazy golden color, light fruity aroma and taste, light body, light sour finish. Boring.

The DM & Hotstuff’s European Honeymoon trip beer number 33. This bottled brew from the De Garre pub in Brugge poured a small head of white colored diminished but long lasting finely sized bubbles that left behind a cloudy dark white yellow colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was mildly malted and almost non-existent. The mouth feel was tingly and hoppy with a fruit bite in the otherwise clean finish. The flavor contained notes of mild white malts and coriander with a fruity mild banana note.

Hazy Bright Yellow. Suprising, strong and spiced nose. The coriander was the most prominent, a blend of sweet and bitter, but also notes of butter toffee, orange, citrus fruits and have phenols. Very phonolic in its flavor. Strong spices (coriander, orange peel) with hints of citrus fruits and caramel. Well balanced. This was a good one and great for the style.

Draft at Staminee de Garre. Named De Witte van Celis. Hazy, light tangerine colored blond. Medium white head. Spicy, citrusy aroma with wheat, and yeast backbone. Taste is citrus, coriander, wheat yeast and some floral flavors. Body is spicy with lively carbonation. Finishes well with citrus (lemon) and more spices.

Hazy yellow color with a white head. The taste is yeasty and rather thin. Has some spicy and some citrusy flavours.
