AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jun 19, 2008 Nothing special really about this stout. Roasted/burnt flavors and aromas. Fairly light body. Yadayadayada. TheKegergator (241), California, USA Feb 3, 2007
Found this at the Cork and Bottle in San Luis Obispo. Pours a sick oil black color with one of the darkest heads i’ve seen. Smell is pretty average, nothing really stands out except the chocolate.Taste is also really average. I taste something but can’t place it. Smooth finish.
SLOFALC (3), California, USA does not count Nov 22, 2006 This was the beer that I wanted to try, but I barely got the last 4 ounces of the growler that a friend brought to a party.
Black, opaque, brown creamy head. Very smoky, slight hop, nice chocolate overtone. Solid beer, and one that I can recommend. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA Sep 22, 2006 Bomber from Richard (irishboy) Thanks!! Another rare gem coming from Richard. Black colored pour with a tan head. Smell is very smokey and roasted / coffee malts. Taste is sweet and pretty smoked tasting. Almost tastes like a smoked beer, but its too thick and dark to be one. Pretty good offering, unique in every way. Not the best stout Ive ever had, but its solid and rare enough that it makes it even better! IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Jul 27, 2006 Draft at the brewpub and in bottles.
Opaque black with a small brown head; Nose of coffee and flavor of coffee and malt, with a hop bite at the end. Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Jan 20, 2005 this stout poured totally black with a small off white head.it was really heard to pull an aroma out of it,but i got a bit of smoke.the flavor was really watery,a little sour, then some smoke, and a bit of malts at the end.this stout needs some work, but its not terrible.
