Pours a ruby chestnut with good clarity and a one finger light brown head. Nose- ripe dark fruit, fig, big toasty malts, vanilla and sweet bourbon. Taste- very sweet blast of bourbon and caramel malts followed by raisins and spruce. Pretty boozy. Mouthfeel- low carbonation, thick and chewy from the huge malt bill. Drying finish from alcohol heat and reasonably high hopping. An interesting brew.

Pour is dark reddish brown with a medium tan head. aroma is rich toffee malt, vanilla, caramel, light bourbon, very faint hop, and a pleasing subtle coconut flavor. My goodness, this smells amazing. Flavor is rich toffee, slightly more hop presence than expected, nice vanilla bourbon flavor, rich creamy malt, light wood, and light butterscotch. This is a sleeper. I did not expect it to b bad, but I did not think it would be this good. The aroma is slightly better than the flavor, but it’s great. nimbleprop (951), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
