Bottle shared at the DC Local tasting. Bottle number 71193. Pours a translucent copper, amber with a cloudy tan head. Nose has coconut, tropical fruits, a little bourbon, a little wood. Flavor is sweet, caramel, sticky fruits, wood, vanilla, lots and lots of sweetness. Very full bodied, slightly astringent, slightly salty.

2009 vintage picked up at Riley’s in Madison. pours a deep reddish mahogany with wisps of tan lace. aroma is sweet boozy goodness with some caramel and bourbon. flavor is a perfect match of a BW and a bourbon barrel - sweet caramel malts with raisin, vanilla, oak and bourbon. for the high ABV, this is not hot in the least. looking forward to see how this ages. CW has hit a home run with this brew!

12 ounce bottle- 2009 vintage. Pours a ruby chestnut with good clarity and a one finger light brown head. Nose- ripe dark fruit, fig, big toasty malts, vanilla and sweet bourbon. Taste- very sweet blast of bourbon and caramel malts followed by raisins and spruce. Pretty boozy. Mouthfeel- low carbonation, thick and chewy from the huge malt bill. Drying finish from alcohol heat and reasonably high hopping. An interesting brew.

Bottle Mahogany pour with white head. Aroma is full of bourbon, raisins, vanilla, and toffee. Taste a boozy, but you get many of the sweet flavors too. Just starting to get into Barley Wines, but this one makes me want to try many more if they are anything like this!

Bottle. Mahogany pour with white head. Aroma is overpowered by bourbon and malts. Harsh flavors, malts, caramel, bourbon , dark fruits, and some hops. Alcohol is evident wouldn’t really say it hidden at all.
